Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2021 comes into force from 1 September 2021 and replaces KCSIE 2020.
Following a consultation, the Government has made these proposals to Keeping Children Safe in Education which are due to come into force in September 2021:
- Additional detail on child sexual exploitation and child criminal exploitation
- Strengthened awareness of peer on peer abuse including online
- Strengthening how to report concerns
- Importance of raising “any concerns” about a child with the DSL or a deputy
- All safeguarding concerns should be appropriately recorded and child protection files maintained
- Mental health section revised with additional support and resources
- Allegations of abuse made against staff- further information on dealing with low level concerns
